Overview
AOD-9604 (Advanced Obesity Drug 9604) is a synthetic peptide comprising the C-terminal fragment of human growth hormone, specifically amino acids 176-191, with an additional tyrosine residue at the N-terminus. Unlike intact hGH, AOD-9604 does not bind the GH receptor and has not been shown to affect IGF-1 levels in preclinical models.
Scientific Overview
Research on AOD-9604 has focused primarily on adipose tissue regulation and body composition. Preclinical studies demonstrated that the peptide stimulates lipolysis and inhibits lipogenesis without inducing the mitogenic or anti-insulin effects associated with full-length growth hormone. More recent research has investigated its potential role in cartilage repair and osteoarthritis models, where it has shown activity on chondrocyte differentiation independent of IGF-1 signalling.
Mechanism of Action
AOD-9604 is proposed to stimulate lipolysis through interaction with beta-3 adrenergic receptors on adipocytes, independent of GH receptor binding. This mechanism activates intracellular lipase activity and promotes fatty acid oxidation. In cartilage models, AOD-9604 has been shown to stimulate proteoglycan synthesis and inhibit matrix-degrading enzymes, suggesting a role in extracellular matrix maintenance in connective tissue.
Areas of Research
Third-Party Testing
Every batch of AOD-9604 supplied by Pure Recovery Labs is independently analysed by a third-party laboratory prior to release. Purity is confirmed via HPLC and mass spectrometry to a minimum of 99%. A certificate of analysis is accessible via QR code on each product and through the Quality page.
