Overview
BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound 157) is a synthetic pentadecapeptide comprising fifteen amino acids. It is derived from a partial sequence of a protein isolated from human gastric juice, where a related endogenous compound has been identified. BPC-157 is supplied in lyophilised form and is stable under standard laboratory storage conditions.
Scientific Overview
Preclinical research has investigated BPC-157 across a broad range of tissue models, with a particular focus on gastrointestinal integrity, tendon-to-bone healing, and ligament repair. Studies in rodent models have examined its effects on wound closure, fistula healing, and organ cytoprotection. Researchers have also investigated its interactions with nitric oxide pathways and its apparent influence on angiogenic signalling.
Mechanism of Action
BPC-157 is reported to modulate the expression of growth factors including VEGF and EGF, and to interact with the focal adhesion kinase (FAK)-paxillin pathway, which regulates cell motility and integrin signalling. It has been shown in preclinical models to influence nitric oxide synthase (NOS) activity, contributing to vasodilatory and cytoprotective effects. The peptide also appears to upregulate collagen synthesis and promote fibroblast outgrowth in tendon explant studies.
Areas of Research
Third-Party Testing
Every batch of BPC-157 supplied by Pure Recovery Labs is independently analysed by a third-party laboratory prior to release. Purity is confirmed via HPLC and mass spectrometry to a minimum of 99%. A certificate of analysis is accessible via QR code on each product and through the Quality page.
Research Use Only
BPC-157 is supplied exclusively for in vitro and preclinical laboratory research. It is not intended for, and must not be used in, humans or animals. It is not a medicinal product, therapeutic agent, supplement, cosmetic, or food substance. All handling must comply with applicable institutional and regulatory requirements. Pure Recovery Labs makes no claims regarding therapeutic efficacy or safety in any biological system.
